Arrangement vs. Design

There is an essential difference between arrangement and design, between being the person a harried husband calls when he needs a dozen stems in a crisp cardboard box and being the person that finds artistic inspiration in the natural world.

I’d like to believe I belong to the latter group.

My approach to design has always been similar to that of an abstract painter. It’s about finding form in the unbridled symmetry of a beautiful bloom. It’s about carefully considering fields of color and how they respond to and work off one another. It’s about stacking textures and creating real relationships. It’s about creating art from a palette carefully plucked from hothouses and backyard gardens.

I hope you enjoy what we do.
